Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to each and every one of you.  2010 saw many changes at our Local.

I took over in July of 2010 and have made good on my promise to meet with your officers and members in Westchester.  I still have many more units to visit. Call or e-mail me with your unit’s upcoming events and I will make every effort to attend.

Our 4^th Local 860 Conference was the biggest to date and was well received by all.  I want to thank my Local Officers and Committee Members for all their hard work.  This past year we celebrated our Holiday Party at the beginning of December and once again it was well received.  These two events allow our members to interact with each other and show some of the opportunities that our Union can afford each and every one of us.    

I would also like to announce two new officers joining us due to retirements and promotions of some of our Local Officers.  Kwabena Manu from Westchester County Unit #9200 joins us as our new 3^rd Vice President and Gina Pelliccio from Westchester Community College #9202 joins us as our new 4^th Vice President.  Let’s welcome them into our Local and congratulate them. 

This year Local 860 sent out 97 letters to all Unit Presidents in Westchester to send recommendations of individuals to be part of our Local Political Action Committee.  I want our PAC to be active and the best PAC in CSEA.

In 2011, start by attending a meeting, a workshop, a phone bank, a political vote effort, and other CSEA events.  The time is now. 

Together we can make things happen and the Local can be your jump off point.
