Open Letter to CSEA Local 860 and Friends:

I would like to thank everyone who attended my retirement party last month.  It was great to see so many of my fellow brothers and sisters of CSEA Local 860, and from across the state, that came out to wish me well in retirement.

Special thanks to John Staino, President of Local 860, and the Local Officers for planning the event.  To all of the unit officers, members and friends that attended, I would like to say thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to share this special occasion with me.

There were many speeches of well-wishes, wonderful and thoughtful gift presentations, a very “creative” photo collage, good food and music and I had a great time.  Many thanks of gratitude to my “home” Unit 9200 (County Employees) for all of their gifts!

I would like to express my sincerest thanks to my very good friend and fellow retiree Lou Roccuzzo for all his hard work making this night so special for me.  You’re the best Lou!

Throughout the night I heard many times how everyone wished it was them retiring and to all of you I must say do not put it off nor be afraid!  It is not anything to be fearful of!  Retirement is not an end, but rather a new beginning and how often do we get the opportunity to start fresh and do what we want in life.

In closing, I would again like to thank all those who wished me well in retirement.  I truly enjoyed my time serving as President and wish all of you Good Luck and offer you any support I can provide in retirement and I look forward to seeing some of you at upcoming CSEA events.

THANK YOU!!!

Jack McPhillips
