April 23, 2010 Labor Walk in White Plains
Lunch Hour Labor / Meet the People Walk in White Plains open to ALL municipal employee union and non-union workers and supporters in ALL cities and municipalities. Hundreds of municipal employees in Westchester County - members of CSEA, SOA, AFL-CIO, and others - and municipal employees not in a union -participated in this important event. Municipal workers are the backbone and the lifeblood of Westchester County.
Municipal workers provide the services that are taken for granted every day and that are extremely important to all residents. Municipal workers pay the same taxes that all residents endure, volunteer for ambulance corp, fire departments, sports leagues, scout troops, donate blood, and participate and volunteer for the same local neighborhood community events in our schools, temples, and churches.
